Straight Flush

Straight Flush

Okay, so last night after yoga, I was out playing poker. I have recently learned the game and I’ve taken a real interest in the whole poker experience. I pretty much know where every free roll is in town. So I am out at Latitude 35 in Market Square for their weekly free roll. So the game was going along and I got dealt a 3 of clubs and 4 of clubs, nothing fancy but it was suited so I played the hand just to see the flop. The flop reveals a 7 of clubs, a Jack of Diamonds and a 6 of clubs. At this point, all I am looking at is the clubs. I see two on the board and two in my hand. The turn comes and it reveals a 10 of spades. All I can think is that I need one more club to catch the flush. Well then the 5 of clubs is revealed. The betting had slowly risen with each reveal but I took the bet hoping for a flush. So when the river showed that 5 of clubs I was completely oblivious that I had a straight flush COMPLETELY OVERLOOKED IT! So the guy to my left goes all in. I had taken a lady out two hands earlier so I had some extra chips and could afford to lose a little plus it was a chance to take another player out so the gamble was worth it. I figured he had the flush since he went all in on the river. But like I said I was completely oblivious that I had the straight flush. In fact, I almost folded the hand because I thought that the guy to my left had a higher flush since he went all in. What is even crazier than that was that he had the Ace of Clubs and Queen of Clubs and I really thought that he had won. I mean when he turned his cards over his was like “Oh yeah, Flush Ace high” and I just thought good call but the guy at the end of the table said “well that’s all good but he has the straight flush” so needless to say the guy to my left had to walk. Poker is so intense and it’s so crazy that’s why I took a picture. I couldn’t believe it. I am still stoked and I didn’t even make it to the final table. But now you know why I am so jealous that you could win a trip to Altantic City to play poker with Sevendust,10 years, Since October and Anew Revolution all part of the Harddrive Live Tour 2010.
